Strategies in Differentiated Instruction

 

This course will examine the theoretical, philosophical, and practical foundations of the differentiated curriculum. Participants will learn to develop and implement differentiated instruction, curriculum, and assessment to better meet the learning needs of all students.

School Development Institute for Formative Assessment

 

Participants will develop a comprehensive understanding of different forms of assessment including formative assessment, assessment for learning, and response to intervention. The course will focus on using formative assessment to assess student learning minute to minute in the classroom. Multiple methods of gathering evidence of learning in the classroom in order to guide instruction and adapt teaching to meet student learning needs will be introduced.

     follow-up during the 2007-2008

School Finance/School Business Management Leadership

 

This course is designed so participants can examine and understand the primary functions needed for schools as organizations and to acquire the skills to carry out specific management tasks including budgets, finance, and policy development.

Education Research (EDU 6920)

 

This course is an examination of concepts and procedures for analyzing, designing, assessing, and conducting social research. Students will look at both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Focus is placed on action research and practitioner inquiry within the formal academic setting. The prerequisite is graduate standing.
